but this.. I have to do.
For Daddy,
Your birthday came and went.
Upon reflection, its surreal.
Another girl I got to know recently shares that same special date.
And I was at a school camp.
It felt easier.
A celebration of life now.
I breathe slower, and I take in as much as I can.
None of those same mistakes, at least I'm learning slowly.
Lack of sleep, diarrhea, sunburn and all....
I recall a poem that was once on everyone's e-mails.
Titled:
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
I hope the rest of you learn with me too?
Don't dance so fast...
I'm trying not to.
In Mitch Albom's book on his Prof Morris, that prof could enjoy life's little pleasures.
Daddy, you tried... and I'll try too.
Lots of Smiles,
With lots of love.
Current MSN Nick: : coz sometimes I'm a bitch, unknowingly. I'm serious.
it goes 1 by 1 even 2 by 2 // when you sing lullabys, i'm helpless, i'm yearning, i'm like putty in your hands.
