by, GEORGE CARLIN

I received this in the mail.

The key to his writing was close to my heart. It was my uncle's 2nd death anniversary; and daddy's would be 5years......

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways ,but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?

whats puppy love?

On my way home from school yesterday (yes, i've been going to school - its the desperate phase just before Exams), I decided to pop in to Pxxx for a visit.

For the uninitiated, Pxxx Bxxx Hxxxn is my part-time job 2hrs at a go. I'm hourly paid, so I guess you can figure out that I'm not working there particularly for money (Though, more of this would be appreciated)

Sigh.

Energy is expended at a hyper rate when you have to care for babies, esp when they're not your own child + there are protocols. Just imagine what its like if you're in a room with 1X screaming kid for a couple of hours; multiply that by an average of 6babies at a go. When one cries, All cry.

I went to see all the "teachers" and all the kids that I cared for before.. some didn't "remember", or were too shy; some gave so much innocent love...
And the CRYING... gee. I stood in my old workplace, with 10kids and watching out for them crying/ crawling/ bawling/tantrums/pee/ & poo... and I thought to myself in the middle of the usual noise pollution & bustle...

I never would have imagined I would actually miss the CHAOS

I knew I missed the babies, but I didn't realise I missed them that much!
And, what a 'stress reliever" it was too :D

So, more baby vids.... sorry, can't help it.

oright, so this ain't much of a "baby", but gotta admit, its cute right?

here's another cute one. Adorable IDOL to be!
Owen's got a Strong Contender! hehe

Frustration...

Makes you do foolish things...
Like.. Posting it on the BLOG.

So, I've not posted for the LONGEST TIME....
ARGH.
Hello everyone :D

"Unless I let you know I am... I will not be your HDB-ginseng-shop-errand-sai
-gang-kid-paid-peanuts to do your bidding!

THAT was YOUR "To Do List" - you're still to take responsibility for it. If things are not done here, You. Are. Still. Screwed. "

This just snippets of an email i just sent out.

After which, I came up with this analogy, to whom the email was intended for. This was what I really wanted to share... too bad, I'm frustrated so dirty linen goes up anyway.

hmm, I don't know if it will make sense to you...? Oh hell....

If everyone's work and life encompassed each a standard toilet...

Its like you go to your toilet, then ask everyone to help together flush/ clean your toilet.

We can help - because we're
1.your friends,
2.a small team, so if you fall, we all fall.

But please don't expect us to wipe your ass as well...?
Esp when you're fully abled or maintaining that impression..

We each have our own toilets and asses to maintain too.

Some random stuff...

... i took with my nice 6300 during this period of silence...

STUPID DRIVER

was at work with the babies when i noticed this STUPID DRIVER who stopped right at the junction for a good 5-10minutes, ENTIRELY OBLIVIOUS to traffic ard him.

Most of you know i work the closing shift - i.e. 5-7pm when parents come to pick their kids up. Can you imagine what can happen with this traffic hazzard of a white vios? There are 4 childcares on this stretch of road, and that is the ENTRANCE!

The *toot* was actually looking at a street directory, and did NOT budge even thou may cars were passing in and out.

Pity i couldn't see the plate number.

One of those days... dinner at zamzam

Left: this is adeline trying to be cute..

Right: this is the zamzam circus man doing his balance- 1000-plastic cups-trick!

The Friday of the 3rd week of September

Some of us SherryTreeFriends salsa peeps were at colin's for a get together (that he owed us *snigger*, for cheering the loudest for him so we could share the prize of RUM)

and so no prizes for guessing how some of us entertained ourselves.. ; if only i were a mahjong-goddess, i'd have won with these tiles! someone beat me to it!

The latest trend of the Chen household!

It all started with my brother (and some of his school mates)
He decidedly brought home (secretly) some of the fish he was keeping in school. And along with them he bought a couple of new tanks and some fish.

Since then, I've been going with him to buy fish.
The latest tank landscape was done by moi (with whatever that was available,i must add)

(ok la, sorry lah. I know its blur - lousy cam.
It's meant to be a phone, after all.)

Current MSN Nick: i've finally updated chinchebochupfee

Where I have been...

seriously, I'm not sure.
I'm always online when I'm home though! (and that is NOT a good thing)

Thought I'd tell you about my latest blood donation attempt...

I try to donate every 3 mths but sometimes, due to schedules, we can't. For me, on top of that, every time I make a trip down, I attempt to take in more Iron as i'm borderline anemic (low haemoglobin). That attempt translates to eating particular foods if i can get my hands on them for the week before my preferred donation date. Also chomping down on vit-tablets in the morning (i conveniently forget to take them otherwise).

My 3mth window was up less than a mth ago; and I rec'd an sms from red cross sg saying they req'd Otype blud.

So, I decided to go today!
Got my sis and pheli along with me too. Each of us has our own reasons for worrying that our trip will be a wasted one - Pheli had low blood pressure the last 2 or 3 times she went.

Waited BLOODY LONG!
So whilst waiting we were chatting, and me with my toopid mouth, half cheekily, half nervously said "what if ALL 3 of us can't donate today... i will laugh my ass off"

True enough, my ass HAS been comin off: diarrhea..

Dunno if I should be ANNOYED or Amused.... *sigh*

Current MSN Nick: ...sigh, still mildly anemic
