About time to pack the bags for Family Trip to Hanoi! - Some school notes and the Lappy is gonna be junked into the bags.

Its been years since we went out and about as a family. Last trip was before we lost daddy... and I don't even rem the one before that *hmmm :(

This'll be good, Hanoi.

I did some researching on the places we'd prob visit - mum got the sheraton desk to do up an itinerary for us..
Generally, this is it:
Weather Overview
Winter (Nov-Feb) is generally cool and dry, with temperatures between 10-15°C (59-68°F). WHOOHOO!!!!!!
The winter months from November to March are relatively dry, although spring then often brings light rains. Central heating is not common in Hanoi, and wind chills may make one feel rather cold in winter.

Tues 19Dec
Flying on SQ.. we all got free tix with mum's freq flyer points... Its maddness how much she's accumulated..
Arriving around noon, and will be whisked to the hotel in the limo..
Hotel we're staying in: Sheraton
I know we've got a suite.. just wondering...Which suite?
Some Pics (looks a lil old..) but its 5*
Executive:
either queen bed or twin beds rooms, located on the 3rd to 15th floor offer garden view in 37m2.

Preferred:
either queen bed or twin beds rooms, located on the 3rd to 15th floor offer lake-city view or river view in 37m2.

Club Floor:
rooms at 16th floor up with benefit check-in/out at the Club Floor Reception, complimentary buffet breakfast in the Club lobby, complimentary refreshments, pre-dinner cocktails in the evening, free 1 hour use of meeting room.

Ambassador Suite:
bedrooms and living room overlook the lake in 112m2. The decoration in suites is slightly different from the guest rooms, features warm earthy colors and classic style.

President Suite:
bedrooms and living room overlook the lake in 129m2 large. The decoration in the suites is slightly different from the guest rooms.

Imperial Suite:
the best suite in the hotel with 176m2 in area. Both bedrooms and living room overlook the lake.

AND GUESS WHAT!!!!!! there's SALSA @ NUTZ @ the Sheraton itself!!!!!!!
Every Wednesday and Saturday night. 8 -11 p.m.: Salsa dancing.
Nutz Pub is the most popular salsa venue in Hanoi and attracts young crowd of Vietnameses. Most expatriate dancers come here for Salsa as well. It is very spacious, very good smoke-filtering and air-conditioning system so you will hardly sweat or smell of smoke! Lighting, music system and dance floor are very well taken care of. The dance style are mixed, mostly LA.
Entrance fee: 4 USD (50,000 VND)
*happiness*

Mon, 25Dec
Don't intend to do anything much on Christmas, I guess
Prep for Chen family reunion..

Tues, 26Dec
Dad's side of the family, reunion. Dinner.

Just trivia - Of all the 13siblings in my father's generation, only 3 have spawned offsprings (my dad included). Of which, 2 of them are M'sians..
That means, my sis, bro and I are the ONLY ones from our generation in SG. One uncle has 5, yes FIVE childres (4 girls and 1 boy; and in this order). The other, has only 1 son.

Now, what am I going to do with them after dinner... *I must think*

Wed, 27Dec
MOVIDA? ZOUK? - Got plans in the works!
Its Maz's Birthday! :)
I'm going to buy you a DRESS, YES!
You graciously accept it, and you graciously Wear it, ok dear?

Thurs, 28Dec
Whence I was in SCGS, the principle was a very dear, but also rather strict, Miss Rosalind Heng. She's retiring now... There's a dinner at Orchard Hotel, organised by the alumni - don't think I'll be going thou, for its $85/head.

Doubt she'd remember me... If she did, I'd rather she remember me for my Contributions to SCGS as a School swimmer who Never trained *hehehehehe*

Well, I wasn't exactly a trouble maker.. I was a quiet student, by far. She did call for me to her office once, when I was in Sec4 (sometime in the 2nd quarter of the year), and she said to me, in her usual sweet-but-when-you-hear-it-you-know-you-better-not-play-play tone:
"My Dear Chinfee, You better do your Sec3 work, and pass it up to Miss Sie (Ha Wai) (my then form-teacher, CME, English, and English Lit teacher) in 2 weeks time, OR I will either Suspend you from school, OR bar you from taking your Prelims!"
'Nuff said.

Oh, but there might be SCGS Class of 99 meet up? at Zouk Winebar? After her dinner?
Can anyone confirm this?

Fri, 29Dec
Day of rest? nothing up so far...

Sat, 30Dec
Oh, will prob go to the markets with mum on fri to prep for BBQ family gatherin... This time, its Mum's side of the family...
