I found out something last night that i'm kinda upset about. Dont really know what to do about it, yet, or rather, how to handle it without ruffling feathers. :( and I cant pen it down coz it will certainly reach those "involved". Sighs..

Lesson learnt: LISTEN TO JEN :(


Today is Teacher's Day. Went back to scgs in the morning, but didnt have enough time to visit the primary school teachers, darn.

Also, my form teacher for sec3 & 4 has diabeties. She'z SHRUNK! to 42KG. Her clothes were twice the correct size. and i know what diabeties is.. gramps been suffering from this disease, and his leg amputated coz of it.

Lesson learnt: Dont be late and allocate at least 2 hours for visits. Also, WATCH YOUR DIET!


Math lesson was a chore. I dislike math. I've said it before, and I'm saying it again. I dislike math. I need tuition to pass this exam. Anyone offering on a payment in kind basis? I'm a super broke student. I wasnt listening - I was doodling, like the Sarah Maclachlan - Angel song lyrics among other nonsense; peeling dead skincells off my arm from the nasty sunburn (windsurfing on 22aug, yep, still peeling to the 3rd layer of skin); mindless chatter with Jaya...

Lesson learnt: Dont go to school for Math lesson - esp if i can find tuition. Meena is B.O.R.I.N.G and I Dislike Math, Still.


Was informed by Winnie that there was this SRC MGM (Student Representtive Counsil - Monthly General Meeting) at 415pm. I wasn't informed although we both signed up together. I remember feeling very annoyed that the SRC because their way of doing things is stiff, priggish, slow and messy.

They first made pple sign up at booths.. and the reps were late. Locker stuff.. ALSO LATE. then they called individually to cfm the "interview time". no other info else. next thing i realise, they stated a time 1 and a half hours earlier than actual "interview time". Furthermore, interview is half an hour, and we each wait for the rest of the small group to talk abt themselves. Wasted so much time in school, when they told me 1245pm!

And the results wld be disseminated, and instructions given. AT LEAST BLOODY HELL TELL THOSE WHO ARE NOT ~~SELECTED~~. geez.. so priggish.

Lesson Learn: SIM really is quite substandard. :(

A day of crowds and tired eyes

The Morning...

got 5 hrs of slp, woke up at 920am. GEEEEZZZ - so early.
thought I could do a lil research on the laptops that I looked at on Thurs [I went to COMEX on thurs.. those pple that said would probably accompany me... ALL DITCHED ME LAST MINUTE. But Its Ok. I'm a friendly, easy-going, peace-loving girl] aft mum left home with bro, to send him to sch.

5 to 10mins later, she calls back...
"Chinfee, you send your brother to school so I have time to bathe and rest" - because we were expecting to get my laptop today at comex, and wanted to go early, like when i opened at 12pm...

So Filial-&-Dutiful-Chauffeur-Chinfee says "alright"
waits at home for another 15 - 20 mins before she sees the car and the passenger

The mother took that long to make a U-turn
[before expressway, so cant be that hard right?]

1st crowd of the day.
CTE Traffic Jam. But with my skillful driving, Chinleong reaches his destination with 10 mins to spare! - and an easy drive home.. ok, so i wasnt paying attention.

The Afternoon...

I reach home with half hour to spare, so I check out one of Dell's laptops - Inspiron 510m priced at $2,547!!!!! Anyway, I got ready, and we left the house soon after.. for COMEX 2004.

Bloody Parking was HORRIBLE! But we got a DAMN COOOOOOOOOL Parking Lot... Eventually... Those that are 2 tiered. the back row lots are against the walls.. so if the back row can fit 3 lots, the front/2nd row will fit 2 cars... and those 2 "front"cars are parked on the machine which will slide the car left/right depending on which lot, from the 1st row, needs to be filled/emptied. - Ok la.. this my1st time with those machines.. quite fun to press the buttons. ;p

And then... I spent abt 5 hours.. squeezing thru the crowds of Comex with mum.. comparing the laptop specs. Felt kinda bad, coz kept on returning to P.A Mart's booth to Skim off the sales man there.. I met him before, at Funan, when I went with Alethea to check out Laptops for her use in AU. He was really helpful, and there was probably some affinity coz we found out by coincidence that we were in the same school, he and I - SIM. He, in Information Systems and Mgmt, and I, the girl-who-cant-programme-"hello world"-who-transfered-from-that-course to BSc Biz. -- Mum was really impressed at his sales skills.. *hahaha* and she said he was quite cute.. *AHAHHAHAHAAHAH*

... moving on... I eventually, after 5 long hours [had a lunch break ard 230pm - Congress LAKSA!!! Totally *YUM*, but maybe coz we were quite tired & hungry] , got the DELL Inspiron 700M. Cool white tones, 1.7KG, abt a week old in sg; 3mths old in US. so its a new model. go chekc it out.. i got it at $2323 + $125 (for 256 memory upgrade).. OK, I hope I made a good choice.. Felt bad abt totally and obviously skimming Lennon (the PA Mart's sales guy) for information and advice.

ooooohh.. got really good.. no, Fantastic.. NO.. FANTABULOUSLY EXCELLENT buys! - Branded Clothes Sales. HAhahHAhAH..

The Evening...

I head to PS for dinner with some of the Womad grp - Boon, Eddie, Verity, Crystal. and we met pple along the walk to Fort Canning.. Bit of an unpleasent glitch with communications. THe main tix holder was late, and quite a number of them hadda wait outside.. only those with concession passes had their tix coz Verity bought for us beforehand.

Womad was not bad.. I napped for abt 20mins in the early part, according to Dames, whom i met there with another friend of his.. Hope they didnt feel left out coz they didnt really know my salsa gang of friends. Then again, I didnt know half the pple in the group.. SO THERE!

And did some Aura reading.. spent unnecessary money on that and my gluttony took me to all the food stalls..... Had quite a delish hotdog thou i wasn't hungry. *oops*

Got HUGE BRUISES thanks to the "fins" below the surfboard.. they are stealth-like.. forever following me.. the "dagger board" is freaky! *grunts* coz i have to "tow" the board and sail back to shore and start again.. aft falling every 5 seconds... Big ugly bruise is still looking kinda, grey and brown. i shall not give you details, but those who've seen it, *smile*, I wish that you would not end up with bruises like mine.

So was driving along serangoon road towards home.. & i hit this flyover in the middle of bendermeer & upper serangoon road..... its a nice long long looonngg road that is possible to hit 140km/h (not in my car, i was driving illegaly *muahahaha* then.) So thats one of the least expected roads that I thought would have a police stop..... and i was driving at 120 and accelerating still :S

Still shocked, and was very hungry then..

Mr. Nice Policeman signaled me to wind down the window: "next time dont speed so fast". and obviously, my hunger pangs disappeared for... 2 mins.... and came back aft when i reached PUNGGOL NASILEMAK.. they have nice bakchor mee *hint hint* there as well, but decided not to stop since i was alone..

unloaded my experience via sms (while driving - hmm.. i'm beginning to realise i dont learn my lessons.. :P ) coz I was THAT CLOSE TO LOSING MY LICENSE.

- I'm in the Salsa Performance Team - Salsa Fanatico - under the 3mths probation thou. *shiok* got free dance training! sure to improve - includes pilates, drool you pple -

- Changed hp plan to FREE INCOMING! but still under M1. Its $25.20 .. so i figure its alright, will still cost less than my original Ultimate plan.. *phew* that kinda burned a hole in my pocket. Was paying it off on my own for abt 3/4 of a year, averaging $80~$90/mth! *OUCH*

- School has started. will do an updated entry sometime later, which includes what i wanted to say in the entry THAT GOT ERASED. **VERY ANNOYED**

- Some bad karma with some friends in the salsa scene.. aah, oh well, it happens.. (take care b*b*)

- back to NYP for dance. Got a perf this 27-28Aug, and I've yet to learn the dance! I only go for rehearsals once a week.. do the math. oh, might I add, its free dance lessons as well..

- I'm super blur with school stuff, but will prob figure things out the next few Months.

- I havent social salsa-ed for A MONTH!!! I will go this friday. To fiesta then to union!

- My sister acted the TRANS in her class play that WON 1ST PRIZE *beam* in the SCGS Drama Fest 04. hhmm.. kinda happy for her, but she forgot her very funny line (which i knew before hand anyway) "But I'm aaaaallllllllll WOMAN!" *dang* but they're all v happy anyhow. Her character - Zsa Zsa Min - has a FAN CLUB. Beat That!

4) Must rollerblade a couple of times during the weekday, less pple, better blades. No $$ to buy my salomons :(

- Jen's present. We decided on the Cow Bell. The "stove" and the "oven" are scent burners that are ornamental and awfuly nice, that I want a nice collection. Thats quite unattainable thou. They have tons of stuff that I wouldnt mind.. all those lil ornamental, but super expensive.............

deb: "I want to get moulding clay for my sister. It will give her something to do during her confinement."
- I think its really sweet of deb ;) she wanted to get the clay to mould her niece's hands. Baby hands. Faith Teo, is the name. Hopefully Singaporeans will be able to overcome the bad pronunciation problems with the "th" sounds. Otherwise, as deb puts it, her niece will "fei-teo" (sounds weird anyway. like FLY AWAY in some dilect).

somewhere along the way.. we pop by kino and I see this really interesting and really stylish "book" about love - "You Drive Me Wild" - to give to your other half. Each page is either a quote by someone, or some words that describe a certain feeling... Too bad I aint got nobody to give it too, it'll be weird to give it to myself... I am not that weird..

- that cracked me up for a while. i checked the spelling. He wrote it as "DeB", so i dont understand why they can't pronounce a 1 syllable... *hmm*

- The UNCLE, disturbed our afternoon tête-à-tête of coffee, bagel and oh-so-ever-yummy-CHEESECAKE! Because we were sitting down, from immediate glance, Uncle is wearing maroonish-shirt, and beige-pants. Uncle is also in big-rimmed yellow sunshades, and is BOTAK! We look up for a clearer picture

Jason Ho, is BALDIE. He just got his new "do" yesterday. And we are sheepish, to mistake a 22 year old man, to be this UNCLE. We have a chat, along with the other "business associates" Darhyl (or daryl, which I have transformed his name to.. think is easier to pronounce and also because i dont remember spelling) and Andrew.

dash back to coffee bean. Deb is in proper running shoes, and jeans. I am in slippery.. oh i mean flipflops. I hear the *piak*piak* sound, and I give up.
cf thinks: "deb'll make it..."
the paper bag is still there. *phew*
but poor deb, who hasn't exercised in ages.. was panting and .. wheezing? and eddie called.. so between wheezes, she manages to reply him.. (i only heard the conversation from her side, and assumes eddie's answers)

ed: "orchard mrt, wisma"
deb: "like *wheeze* where?"
ed: "ha? wisma?"

got me thinking abt Generation gaps, and common Mother Problems

Friend 1 describes his mother as very manipulative... and a whole lot more!!!!!!
Friend 2 also related his mother-son arguement that happened that afternoon. He says that the most annoying thing is when they insist they are right, and they try to manipulate others by altering words, lie outright, bring in other OOP (out of point) instances and REFUSE to admit they were wrong.
- I cant agree more.

Their generation grew up in rough times. They were polished to become scheming, and manipulative, to get through the times and the world at large. And they protect their brood with so much ardour, we thus grow up to be idealists. It is THE major clash between the Baby Boomers and Gen Y.. All the fathers and, especially, mothers have their horns sharpened, and then retract suddenly when they realise they're fighting their kids.

as YT says: live and let live. the best way to fight is to leave no scars.

lingering topic - Boyfriends & Dance

I have been questioned many times over
- " since you're so into salsa, would you like a bf who can dance? "
- " would your bf be from the salsa scene? "
- " would you mind him dancing with other girls? Especially some couple dances.. "
- " what are other factors that would influence your decision to engage in a r/s? "
- " who would you want to meet? "

a) yes - I would like that, but doesnt matter if he doesnt. A dance is made more meaningful by the relationship shared, and it stands the same in the instance of Friends. If he doesnt, at least understand my "passion" for dance; and.. this sounds *roll eyes* silly, but if he dances, he only starts dancing coz of me..

b) probably not - those that start dancing on their own.. are.. hhmm.. let me put it in a way I told a friend when he asked: these guys carry a certain stigma, that they're there to learn just to pick up girls.

c) tough. - "Always treat others the way you want to be treated", thusly, respect their decisions, right? WRONG, i.e. if I were to be really stingy. BUT, I also want to dance, and I DEFINATELY know my limits.. so I just hope my (future) partner shares the same sentiments....

d) i'm fussy. too bad. *grumble*
